There are so many wonderful memories... I may post more as time passes... but one that Jodes and I shared that changed my life was a weekend adventure to Jazz Fest in 2011. We split a small hotel room in New Orleans, ate some of the best food of our lives, saw Arcade Fire (below), Wilco, Ween, The Strokes, and a ton of Jazz legends he knew and educated me on.. and all before 6 pm so we could nap and go to dinner and live music in the evenings too. A total blast! (yes that's Jody's iconic hair in the pic)
But my memories focus on Jody continuing to bug me about a topic that he wouldn't let go. He had introduced me to one of his AOL coworkers a few weeks earlier and we'd had some immediate chemistry.. Jody sensed it. He kept harassing me (in his friendly way) to ask her out again. He built my confidence. He thought we would really hit it off if we got to know eachother better.
Abby and I got married in 2013. Anyone who knows her knows how lucky I got. 10 years later I am fortunate to have 3 kids and a wonderful, loving family. Jody not only introduced me to my wife but pushed me to seize a life changing opportunity and not let it go. In many ways I'm forever in debt to him.
I will miss him forever. I love the memories we shared.
I'm pissed at Jason for not putting a LOVE button!!! Classic and great memory!! Thanks for sharing Justin!
